How binaural beats work

  1. Two waves, one beat.

A slightly different tone in each ear makes your brain hear a third rhythm — the binaural beat.

  2. Headphones recommended.

Headphones give each ear its own tone for the full effect. Speakers work too, but the beat is subtler as the sounds mix in the air.

  3. Pick your state.

Focus, relax, meditate or sleep — tuned presets, or dial in your own frequencies.

Four brainwave modes, tuned for you

Each mode uses a 200 Hz carrier in the left ear and a slightly higher tone in the right. The difference is the beat you perceive.

  • Beta · 13–30 Hz

    18Hz

    Focus

Alert, concentrated, active thinking. Ideal for deep work and study.

  • Alpha · 8–13 Hz

    10Hz

    Relax

Calm awareness and stress relief. Unwind between tasks or after work.

  • Theta · 4–8 Hz

    6Hz

    Meditate

Deep relaxation, creativity and meditation. Settle in and let go.

  • Delta · 0.5–4 Hz

    3Hz

    Sleep

A slow, deep rhythm for winding down and falling asleep.

  • Background and lock screen

Audio keeps playing with the screen locked, fades in and out smoothly, and can be paused from the lock screen.

  • Live wave visuals

Watch the left ear, right ear and perceived waves on an oscilloscope. Slow the animation if you are motion-sensitive.

  • Tuned presets or your own

Four ready-made modes, plus a Custom mode where you set the left and right frequencies yourself.

Hear it in 10 seconds

Put on headphones and play a 10 Hz alpha beat: 200 Hz in your left ear, 210 Hz in your right. Keep the volume low.

Browser demo only. The app adds fades, ambience, timers and background playback.

Listen safely

Listen safely: keep volume comfortable and never use while driving or operating machinery. If you are sensitive to flashing or motion, lower the wave animation speed in the player. Not a medical device.

FAQ

What are binaural beats?

A binaural beat is the rhythm your brain perceives when each ear hears a slightly different tone. A 200 Hz tone in one ear and 210 Hz in the other is heard as a 10 Hz pulse, which sits in the alpha range linked with relaxed awareness.
